After two years of virtual events, this year we were pleased to welcome 42 visitors back on-site. Visitors watched a presentation about the facility and its role in managing household waste in Suffolk, then they had a tour of the control room, boiler house and the ash processing facility. This was followed by a question-and-answer session led by our Community Liaison Manager and a member of the waste team from Suffolk County Council.

The event was supported by our local ornithologist, Peter Merchant, who spoke with visitors about our peregrine falcon project. Optical equipment was available to use, but unfortunately prevailing winds meant that the peregrines were not visible on the day.
