Our team in Suffolk

Our team in Suffolk is made up of 50 people in roles ranging from operations, engineering, maintenance and administration to health and safety.

Here’s some information about a few of them:

John Flounders

Plant Manager

John became the plant manager for the Suffolk energy-from-waste facility in October 2024, relocating to Suffolk for the role. He has worked for SUEZ for over 10 years, most recently at the gasification and AD plants in alternative fuels based in Surrey. As the plant manager, John has overall responsibility for maintaining the site’s high health and safety and operational standards.

Colin Forrester

Operations Manager

Colin joined SUEZ in 2013 from Amey Cespa where he was the operations manager at their materials recycling facility in Cambridge. His career began with a mechanical engineering apprenticeship in the quarrying industry. Colin then went on to become a quarry and landfill manager, followed by MRF plant manager for Newport Paper in Norfolk.

Colin is originally from Staffordshire but has lived in Suffolk for over 30 years. As well as enjoying family life, he enjoys DIY and is an enthusiastic amateur blacksmith.

Paul Latham

Maintenance Manager

Paul has worked and progressed within the power/renewables industry for the past 35 years, initially completing a time served, mechanical craft apprenticeship with RWE and subsequently working within the operations and maintenance departments in power generation.

Since joining Suez at Suffolk in 2014, Paul has had roles as senior mechanical maintenance technician, assistant maintenance manager and is the current maintenance manager, responsible for managing the maintenance of the energy-from-waste facility.

Andrea Blundell

Customer Compliance Manager

Andrea joined SUEZ in 2021 as the office manager, and progressed to her current position in 2022. Prior to joining SUEZ, Andrea spent almost twenty years working in the civil service.

Andrea is responsible for ensuring our compliance in all aspects of our contract with Suffolk County Council.

Sky Marshall

Office Manager

Sky became office manager for the Suffolk energy-from-waste facility in 2022. Prior to that, she , Sky completed a Level 3 Business Administration apprenticeship with SUEZ in 2019, working as our operations administrator.

Siobhan O'Dell

Community Liaison Manager

Siobhan joined SUEZ in 2022 after a 10 year career in teaching. She holds an undergraduate degree in primary education and is a qualified teacher. Siobhan’s focus in her role is on education, mainly working with primary school tours and outreach lessons.

In her spare time, she enjoys exploring the Suffolk countryside and finessing her crafting skills.

Jenny Steytler

Community Liaison Manager

Jenny joined SUEZ in 2024. She has a master’s degree in education and over twenty years of teaching experience, mainly at high school and college level. Jenny’s focus in her role is on further education, mainly working with high schools and colleges.
