Our team in Suffolk
Our team in Suffolk is made up of 50 people in roles ranging from operations, engineering, maintenance and administration to health and safety.
Here’s some information about a few of them:
James Clarke
Plant Manager
Jim joined SUEZ in December 2010 as a graduate engineer following his graduation from the University of Sheffield with a master’s in chemical engineering. He moved into operations following the completion of the graduate scheme, progressing to a shift manager at the Suffolk facility in 2014.
From there he moved into the site technical plant engineer and then a senior engineer role supporting all SUEZ’s southern sites.
In 2020 Jim took on the role of Suffolk’s maintenance manager before progressing to the plant manager role in 2023.
Born and raised in Bury St Edmunds. He is a keen traveller and spent three months in South and Central America on his honeymoon.
Colin Forrester
Operations Manager
Colin joined SUEZ in 2013 from Amey Cespa where he was the Operations Manager at their materials recycling facility in Cambridge. His career began with a mechanical engineering apprenticeship in the quarrying industry. Colin then went on to become a quarry and landfill manager, followed by MRF Plant Manager for Newport Paper in Norfolk.
Colin is originally from Staffordshire and has lived in Suffolk for over 20 years. As well as enjoying family life, he is a keen runner who competes in veterans' races and has completed his first half-marathon.
Robert Taylor
Technical Plant Engineer
Rob joined SUEZ in 2019 as Technical Plant Engineer at the Suffolk energy-from-waste facility. Rob graduated with MEng in Chemical and Process Engineering and has over 15 years’ experience working within the thermal power generation industry. Previously, Rob has been involved with the design and installation of power plant projects both in the UK and internationally.
Siobhan O'Dell
Community Liaison Manager
Siobhan joined SUEZ in 2022 after a 10 year career in teaching.
Siobhan holds an undergraduate degree in Primary Education and is a qualified teacher. In her spare time, she enjoys exploring the Suffolk countryside and finessing her crafting skills.
