The Benjamin Foundation received £500 from SUEZ
SUEZ recycling and recovery UK has donated £500 to the Benjamin Foundation as part of its “Giving Something Back at Christmas” fund.
SUEZ staff across the country were invited to nominate charities supporting those in need in their local communities and working to improve the environment.
The Benjamin Foundation was nominated to receive a donation to aid in their efforts in providing support and a stable home for vulnerable young people aged 16 to 18 through The Mix House in Stowmarket.
The £500 donation will be used to look after the young residents of The Mix House and to continue providing the resources needed to enable them to make that next, positive step in their progression towards independence.
Rachel Hogg, Communications Coordinator for The Benjamin Foundation said: “At a time when charities are under more pressure than ever due to the challenges of Covid, we are delighted to receive a £500 donation from SUEZ to support The Mix House in Stowmarket, one of our accommodation services in Suffolk for local young people. It’s really kind of SUEZ to nominate The Mix House to receive this award, which will be used to benefit all of the current residents to boost their emotional wellbeing during this difficult time.”
John Tatton, Suffolk EfW Plant Manager for SUEZ recycling and recovery UK said: “SUEZ is delighted to be able to make these donations and give something back to the local community through The Benjamin Foundation. We know now more than ever just how vital local charities are and we are pleased to be able to offer some support to the residents of The Mix House in Stowmarket during this difficult time.”
The newly introduced annual fund to support local good causes makes up part of SUEZ’s wider corporate giving. This includes its partnership with Macmillan Cancer Support which recently saw SUEZ pass a significant milestone, with donations to Macmillan over the last 5 years reaching £300,000.
