Suffolk Show 2022
On the 31 May and 01 June, our team was back at the Suffolk Show in the Suffolk Waste Partnership marquee.
A wonderful two days were spent at the Suffolk Show. The theme of the Suffolk Waste Partnership marquee was ‘Flying high for Suffolk’.
Local schools and community groups made a host of different birds out of recycled materials to decorate the marquee.
To keep with the theme SUEZ hired a high striker to see how high the visitors could get the machine to ‘fly’ up to the bell. The high striker encouraged people to see how much energy was stored inside their body which prompted the discussion about the ‘hidden’ energy we get from inside rubbish that is unlocked at the energy-from-waste facility.
We also set up the stand in the marquee showing a short video clip of our peregrine chicks that had recently hatched in a purpose-built nesting box.
Visitors were given the opportunity to suggest creative names for the four chicks.
Over 400 names were suggested, with the winning names Sky, Bolt, Millennium and Jubilee.
Over the two days, more than 2,000 people visited us in the marquee.
