Annual maintenance shutdown 2026
The Suffolk energy-from-waste facility will be undergoing its planned annual maintenance shutdown between 13 April and 15 May this year.
The planned shutdown is essential as it enables us to do necessary cleaning and maintenance so that the facility continues to run efficiently.
During this time, we will carry out the usual inspection and repair of the furnaces and boiler, as well as doing any necessary maintenance on all systems. Other planned works include the installation of a new shaft and impeller on one of the two ID fans as well as upgrades to the turbine’s hardware and software. Work on each of our two furnaces will be staggered so that we can continue to accept direct delivered waste throughout the shutdown period.
There will be an increased number of contractors on site during this period, but there should be no impact on the local community. If you have any concerns about the upcoming shutdown period, please contact us at https://suffolkefw.co.uk/contact/.
